Where did that blond hair come from?

I don't know maybe the mailman? This by far is one of the worst questions I hear quite often. My son has what I consider a dirty blond hair color. I had even blonder hair when I was his age! Obviously it came from me, but it is so insulting when people ask where it comes from. I want to say sometimes well, you know the mailman is really his daddy! However, I usually bite my tongue but a funny thing happened a few weeks ago that would surely make everyone wonder.

I was in the Kitchen letting the dog out our back door and just as I opened the door the mailman was getting out of his van and shutting the door. Lil Gary was standing far enough in the kitchen so he couldn't see who was slamming a door shut. He became so excited by it that he came running the length of the kitchen yelling Daddy's Home Daddy's Home! It was in fact not his dad but the mailman. I immediately thought of people who ask me about his hair and then the neighbors hearing him yell this and how funny it probably seemed. I even think the mailman heard him and I was just laughing too hard to care. What adds to the funny of this is that our dog Bitsy Bleu is totally in love with the mailman as well. He brings her treats and comes to see her when she is outside! If she is inside she will basically whine at the door for him as he walks up our mail! Our cute little family! I love it! I of course had to tell Big Daddy about it and now we have this joke all the time about the mailman being Gary's daddy! My Big Daddy knows he is his 100%

Oh how I love thee, let me count the ways....

Well, I love my children with all my heart. Words can't describe the love I hold for them or lengths I would go for their happiness. This post, however, is not about my love for them but the love of others for them! One person in particular honestly and truly is crazy about my children and has never even met them! This person is a Lady by the name of Nicole Jones*.

Nicole works sporadically with my dad when he does free lance graphics and such for sports broadcasts. I have never personally met Nicole only have I read about her travels, and listened to my dad talk about her! She is way too considerate of my family! Before Lil Gary was even born she was wishing us well, and excited for my dad and us to be experiencing such a wonderful gift of a baby. After Lil Gary was born she sent a gift in the mail for him which consisted of a miniature "Stanley cup" and a Columbus Blue Jacket's onsie for him to wear. I put the "Stanley cup" up on a shelf for safe keeping and he finally fit his onsie when he was about 8 months old! It was so adorable. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever, to not even know Gary or I and to send us a gift for our baby!

Then last Friday came! Nicole spent an entire month in China, exploring a bit and working the 2008 Summer Olympics! Yes, her life is way more exciting than mine! Well, she purchased some stuffed Chinese character type dolls that had different meanings. She sent two of them to my Dad's house for the kids! One for Gary one for Cara! I don't have them in front of me right now but I will post pics and the meanings soon! I decided to show Lil Gary them and explained to him that we were putting them away to be kept forever. I explained to him they could be worth "BIG MONIES" one day! Now tell me how lovely of a person is she! She went to a foreign country and thought about my children and getting them a present or "Prize" as Gary calls it! What a wonderful Gal! I can not thank her enough for thinking of them, especially when she doesn't HAVE TO! It's weird though in China I know they have this red string theory that says everyone is born and connected to everyone that will have an impact on their lives with a red strand! I hope to follow the strand to actually meet Nicole one day!

Nicole if you are reading this, THANK YOU SINCERELY! I really am touched by you! Gary asks me for those dolls every day and I have to tell him no! I am saving them! THANK YOU AGAIN! There will be something arriving for you at your house soon!

What do you get when you add a rainy day, a Ford f150 truck and a rubbermaid tote?

A wonderfully funny story to blog about, which also involved Daddy! Friday was a ridiculously rainy day here in North Eastern Ohio! Just because it is raining though I can't just stop my day! I absolutely needed to get some grocery shopping done and needed to get a few more supplies for my projects I am currently doing! Sure there will be a blog on that soon.

Little Gary has been very obsessed with the very expensive Thomas the Train wooden table! The thing regularly retails for 169.99! JUST THE TABLE NO TRAIN WITH IT! Well, we have a few different tracks of Thomas the train and I vowed to keep an eye out for a table in the classifieds or the second hand type stores around here. So after the craft store Friday I ventured to Once Upon a Child, (a franchise second hand type store). I had been there in May and scored a great bouncer for Cara and they had a train table then which they were selling for 65.00! I thought what the heck maybe I will find something and if not, no biggie. We walk in and right in the middle of the store a shining light coming down on it was a train table! This table was in absolutely great condition for being used and Gary knew what it was without the trains even on it! I found the price tag and was so totally shocked and excited! 35.00 yes 35.00! I don't think it is an actual Thomas the train table but it sure passes for it! The Trains work on it and all! I asked Lil Gary if he wanted to get it and he said, "YES!" So I asked the lady if I purchased it would they be willing to hold it till I was able to return with my Hubby and truck to take it home! With an absolutely, the table was ours! She placed a paper saying SOLD on it and I was thrilled for my boy! So I convince him through tears and kicks we need to leave and go get Dada so we can come in the truck (Mack as he calls it) and bring the table home.

We go grocery shopping faster than ever and head home in the pouring rain! Get home put groceries away and feed Cara and load up in Mack to head to get the table! Our house is not huge at all and toys clutter our living room on a daily basis. Big Daddy and I decided some toys would get put away in a tote to be rotated back out later and the rest could go up stairs with the exception of a Diego Dino head toy and the Train table still in the living room. One problem with this idea! We don't have a tote! We make a stop at Lowe's and buy a 50 gallon tote. As we are leaving Lowe's it has begun to seriously pour rain, so we put the kids in the truck as fast as can be I load the tote in the work gear loaded bed of the truck and shake and budge it to see if it is in securely. Big Daddy agrees it is secure and off we go to head up 224 for the train table. All is seeming fine as we approach the Shops at Boardman Park.

We are cruising along and get to the light right in front of Wendy's and Big Daddy yells, "F***, we lost the tote!" At this point I am still talking and I say huh what are you talking about as I look in my rear view mirror and see our 50 gallon tote banging as it rolled down the slight slope in the rain. It was one of those moments where time seemed to crawl and I remember myself saying, "Oh NO!" I then asked Big Daddy, "we are going back for it right?" He looks at me with this look of DUHHHHH and says, "Yeah, as soon as I can turn around!" We get turned around and we find our tote in the middle of 5 lane 224 and we pull next to it and Big Daddy jumps out to grab it! He throws it in the back and then we escape to behind Quiznos where we actually put it in the Cab of the truck! There we are two car seats, two adults and a 50 gallon tote smashed in an F150 off to retrieve our train table! All this craziness has been worth it! Lil Gary is in love with his train table!

I love coupons!!!!!

Seriously ask my husband I absolutely go crazy when we get them! I however, swear by them too I use them for diapers, baby wipes, lotion, deodorant, etc...Anything we use that I get a coupon for is saved filed and used! WELL last Friday was a great day for me! It started Thursday night after I got home from a 10 hour shift at work. I already knew I needed to run to K-mart Friday morning for a few things and pick up Cara's pictures from Olan Mills! As I was laying in bed trying to get some rest the news came on. During one segment the female anchor gives you money saving tips and her tip that night was the from Friday 9/5-Sunday 9/7 K-mart would be doubling coupons up to $2.00 I was so excited I slapped Big Daddy and made him wake up so I could tell him about it! Friday morning we ventured to K-mart to get things we needed. I ended up having coupons for 2.00 off a bottle of baby lotion or wash with the purchase of a 64ct tub or larger of Huggies baby wipes. So I got the huge box of wipes and a lotion with that coupon and did this twice! The lotions were 3.79 each so I got those for free after they doubled the coupon I also then had a 1.00 off on wipes so got 2.00 off the one box of wipes i had to buy to get my free lotion, then the second box of wipes I had a coupon for .75 off so I got 1.50 off those. I had two more coupons then for 1.00 off a body wash so I got two of those with two dollars off each. I also had a 2.00 coupon for a package of Pullups so saved 4.00 there. Had a 5.00 coupon for my shoes I need for work. I had a few other I know don't remember specifics, however, when all was said and done I saved 23.50 I put 25.50 in my gas tank that day so I only spent 2 dollars on gas! How awesome is that! I was so proud of myself! I had to tell my mom, Big Daddy, and NOW EVERYONE ELSE!

I've been Tagged by Megan!

Three Joys!

1. When we get to sleep in, in the morning and both of our children have come into bed with us and snuggled up!
2. Hearing both of my babies' first cries when they were born, and watching their daddy's face light up because he was finally a Daddy!
3. Breastfeeding my daughter. What a beautiful, precious, lovely gift and bond we have. I only wish I had known it more with my son!

Three Fears!

1. Dying too young and leaving my children without their mommy.
2. The inevitable day when my own mom passes away. She is my best friend and I don't know what I would do without her. She's out of town for 3 days right now and I am just at a lost knowing I can't see her!
3. Spiders, I was thinking of some more serious fears but really spiders and all bugs in general just creep me out!

Three Current Goals!

1. Find, apply, and be accepted to a nursing program, so I can finish that part of my education.
2. Lose at least 15lbs before my friend Mandy's wedding! I need to seriously focus!
3. Have Gary completely night time potty trained and out of pull ups at night before Christmas!

Three Current Obsessions!

1. Big Gary, although it isn't just current. He is always my obsession, but when you work opposite schedules and never have even a single whole day just together you get really obsessed. I miss him on a daily basis!
2. E-bay shopping for great deals on kids play clothes.
3. Taking pictures of my kiddos together!

Three Random Facts About Me!
1. Deep inside me is a Skinny girl dying to get out but I can usually shut her up with ice cream! Lol I love this! It is so true. I lost a lot of weight after Lil Gary was born looked, and felt great. I had a miscarriage got depressed and gained it all back. No matter how hard I try lately I can not seem to stay focused for more than a week to get back on track to really losing all the weight I want to lose!
2. When I was a little girl I think 7 maybe 8 a man tried to kidnap me and get me in his car when I was walking home from my Aunt's flower shop! I scared the idiot away with my attitude! This is no lie!
3. My grandma Joan died when I was 6 years old, but I still miss her terribly. I cry whenever I talk about her still. I cried after Lil Gary was born because I wanted her to be here to meet him, and after Cara. She would only be 70 something now! She died way too young, and I miss her every day!

I only have three people I could tag on here and since Meg Tagged me she was already tagged and since she tagged Jenn and Me, I am going to TAG NICOLE!!!!!!! Although, she is super busy since she got back from the Olympics in China I hope she does this!
